It's terrible that anyone, particularly the aged, would have to resort to stealing...but hell, fast food workers have to put up with enough law-abiding bullshit without being threatened and robbed too. Couldn't really give a damn about the company's money, but I feel very sorry for you guys who had to be there when it happened.

As true as that might be, stealing is never the answer. There are other ways to get help.
In any case, most of the time people robbing stores do it to buy drugs. So yes he was desperate...for a fix. :|
